Jieyi DONG is an interdisciplinary artist based in France. Initially trained in film directing, she defines her practice as “generative interactive cinema”, working across moving image, performance, installation, and field research.
Mobility and instability function both as the conditions and the methods of her practice. Her projects often emerge from a temporary presence within a place or social environment, where she takes on different identities：such as exchange student, investigator, or temporary worker—in order to observe, participate, and collect stories, objects, and signs.
From these materials, she constructs parafictional systems: narratives rooted in real situations that, once transformed through fiction, can return to their original contexts, reappear there, and circulate again.
